Little Big Planet 2

LittleBigPlanet is a pretty unique platformer video game where you can not only move left, right, up and down, but also you can move between three spaces (so further away from the camera and closer to it). You can play up to four people and when playing the story it really is the more players there are, the more fun it is. Why it is so unique is because of the story that is given in the game is not the essential thing to the game, although the story is still pretty cool and interesting and has plenty of gaming time, what the main idea of the game is for you yourself to create worlds as you can see in the game. When playing the actual story you are given different types of tools for creating like different types of wood, stickers, cogs and the list just goes on. From these tools, as I said before, you can create a world (which really just is a big rectangle) and put them in it, creating almost anything you want. Playing the tutorials in the create mode for the different kinds of tools will make you understand pretty much everything there is to understand about creating - so if you know how, there is no other obstacle than your fantasy (and I mean it, I created a freakin' tank!).

In the game you play as a little character known as a ‘Sackboy' which is a cute little sockpuppet which you can customize to the extreme. In the story mode you are also given several different types of accessories for you character like different types of hair, glasses, clothes etc. and in addition you can improvise to put different stickers on them (some I have made with help from stickers which are pretty good are Doctor Manhattan (from Watchmen), Satan, Donald Duck and Death).

So what is my opinion of the game? I think it was really one of the greatest games I have ever played. Almost everything about it is unique making it not feel like any other game I've played before. The options you are given are really incredible and you really are stimulating your creativity while having fun at the same time which is something very rare in anything really. I would really suggest anyone to buy it because it's really hard to not love this game since you can just let your fantasy run wild.

For clarification:
The story offers an experience that is not rich in the regular context of a game (which would be dialouge, story writing in general and so forth). Instead, Media Molecule has crafted a bland reason to actually continue the game: However the levels are well designed and truly work as an inspiration to what you are able to create in this game. It is difficult to not smile while playing the story and I generally was sceptical at first about it, but as I actually got past the somewhat "tutorial feel", the game actually became really interesting and enjoyable. Compared to the first LittleBigPlanet, LittleBigPlanet 2 offers a much more diverse and fun story that you will be able to enjoy both alone and with friends. As a standalone game based on the story without any online creation: LittleBigPlanet 2 would not be the stellar game it is. Luckily Media Molecule is aware of this and I am obliged to review the whole game for what it aspires to be and ofcourse if it delivers in that regard.

Play, create and share. LittleBigPlanet 2 is charming, fun and addicting. I have not seen anything quite like it.
