Ashley Johnson, skådespelerskan som gör rösten till Ellie i The Last of Us (som hon kammade hem en Bafta för, bland annat) har gått ut och kritiserat Ubisoft för uttalandet om varför utgivaren valde att utesluta spelbara, kvinnliga karaktärer i kommande Assassin's Creed: Unity. Såhär lät det i en intervju med Videogamer.com:
"When I saw the gameplay and saw that in their multiplayer you do not have the option to play as a female. I was like, 'Give me a fucking break!' It's 2014! How many video games do you have to make to realize maybe have an option to have a female be in there?"
Du som hängde med i rapporteringen efter E3 2014 kommer ihåg att Ubisofts creative director Alex Amancio svarade såhär på frågan om varför kommande Unity inte innehåller en enda kvinnlig lönnmördare:
"It's double the animations, it's double the voices, all that stuff and double the visual assets. Especially because we have customizable assassins. It was really a lot of extra production work."
