Playstation-utvecklare får gratis tillgång till grafikmotorn Unity

Sony Computer Entertainment har nu slagit ännu ett slag för indie-scenen i form av ett samarbete med Unity Technologies. Detta innebär att spelutvecklare som licensieras för att skapa spel till Playstation 4, Playstation 3 och PS Vita kommer att få tillgång till den populära grafikmotorn Unity och dess utvecklingsverktyg helt gratis.

Teiji Yutaka hos Sony Computer Entertainment hade enligt Siliconera detta att säga om samarbetet:

"We are very happy to begin offering Unity for our PlayStation® platforms at no additional cost to developers."

Yunaka fortsätter: "Some of the most exciting and high quality games are being created in the vibrant indie community. We're happy to help ensure all developers have the same opportunities to create wonderful new experiences for our powerful PlayStation platforms."

Exempel på spel som är skapade i Unity är, för att nämna några: Oddworld: New m' Tasty; Counterspy; Stick It to The Man; och Broforce.
