Spencer säger att Xbox Scorpio inte blir överdrivet dyr

Det har varit gott om spekulationer angående prislappen på den kommande Xbox Scorpio, vilken väntas släppas någon gång nästa höst. Allt från $399 till $799 har förts fram, men nu kastar självaste Xbox-bossen Phil Spencer lite ljus på saken i en intervju.

"We thought about the price performance of what we wanted to hit with the Scorpio, relative to what we were going to be able to do with the S. So that we would have a good price continuum, so people wouldn't look at these two things as so disconnected because of the price delta."

Han fortsätter med att berätta att det inte kommer bli tal om några prisnivåer högre än det vi redan haft i spelvärlden tidigare:

"So I think you will feel like it's a premium product, a premium console. And not something, anything more than that. So I wouldn't get people worried that this thing is going to be unlike any console price you've ever seen. We didn't design it that way."

Det högsta priset hittills på en traditionell konsol är Playstation 3, vilken lanserades för $599. Att döma utifrån Spencers kommentar så skulle det alltså vara taket för Xbox Scorpio.
