Det har redan tidigare varit känt att fler utvecklare ska dela på Hitman-spelen i framtiden för att kunna släppa nya delar oftare. Först i raden av Hitman-spel från andra utvecklare än IO Interactive blir nästa spel som görs av Square Enix Montreal.
I en intervju med Official Playstation Magazine berättar Tore Blystad, director för Hitman: Absolution, om hur det kommer att fungera.
"It's like with Treyarch and Infinity Ward", säger hon och syftar på hur Call of Duty-serien hanteras.
"You have an IP that has been developed. They will feed off each other, as well as somethings that stand out. I think with these big franchises it takes a long time to develop just one game. If you can, work a little bit in parallel at least and help each other out.", fortsätter hon.
Blystad drar en parallell med filmserien Alien: "Every time someone gets their hands on a franchise they do something different. So rather than doing the same thing again you get another take on the character from a fresh perspective."
Till sist avslutar Blystad med att förklara att det heller inte är några nybörjare hos Square Enix Montreal, utan att flera av de som jobbar där kommer från just IO Interactive, samt att IO ska vara med och övervaka utvecklingen.
Räkna alltså med att inte behöva vänta i sex år på uppföljaren, vilket det tog mellan Hitman: Blood Money och Hitman: Absolution. Vi har väl förresten läst vår recension?
