I nuläget har inget Mario-spel förutom ett nytt Paper Mario visats upp för kommande Nintendo 3DS. Men Nintendo kommer att ge oss Mario-spel i både 2D och 3D (samt stereoskopisk 3D), enligt Shigeru Miyamoto.
Under en frågestund med investerare ska Mario-pappan enligt Andriasang svarat följande på frågan om en 2D- eller 3D-Mariotitel var på väg:
"The answer is, of course, we'll make both. They both have their own appeal."
Nintendo 3DS kommer att kunna underlätta spelupplevelsen för båda typer av perspektiv, berättar Miyamoto. Det blir till exemepl lättare att akta sig för Bullet Bills:
"It's difficult to tell when they will hit the player, so we were only able to use these lightly. However, we'll be able to use this type of thing quite a bit on the 3DS."
