Pusselbitarna till Black Adam-filmen med Dwayne the Rock Johnson börjar mer och mer falla på plats och nu har Total Film fått tillgång till en handfull exklusiva foton från inspelningen där vi bland annat får se den tituläre huvudkaraktären i full mundering. Mumma! Johnson passade även på att kommentera lite mer på Black Adam som karaktär och filminspelningen. Han hade följande att säga till Total Film.
"Official offers never happened. It was always conversations with studio heads. But there was always something unique, different about Black Adam. He was a villain, an antihero, depending on your interpretation of what a villain is. I loved this idea that his pain and rage comes from loss, and was fuelled by oppression. And at some point, he refused to be held down any more. If you wrong him, his family, or his people, then you will die. Period. That is just that simple."
"Right from the beginning, we gelled, because it was like: 'OK, our goal and our North Star is the hierarchy of power in the DC Universe is about to change.' Let's have guts. Let's get after it. And let's be destructive."
Vidare så nämnde Dwayne även hur noga de varit med att bygga Black Adam på rätt sätt, och gjort sitt yttersta för att undvika att falla ner i hål som tidigare filmer med skurkar i huvudrollerna gjort. Han avslutade även med att sträcka ut en hand till Henry Cavill då han beskrev hur en konfrontation mellan Black Adam och Superman är den slutliga drömmen.
"You get one shot out of the gates to build these characters properly. We paid attention to some of the pitfalls that other films had experienced in the past, in the world of DC, and what, rightfully, got a lot of fans unhappy and pissed - and, as a fan, I was one of them.
"So, let's make sure we respect tradition and mythology, but let's not be handcuffed creatively. We can do anything if we keep the audience first. So to me, there's a battle that's going to go down one day, between Black Adam and Superman. I don't know who that Superman is going to be, and I don't know who's going to play him. That's OK. I don't need to know right now. But I'm confident in knowing that [laughs]. And that's based out of what fans want. We worked backwards from there."
