Netflix hårdsatsar verkligen på Masters of the Universe och har släppt två olika TV-serier baserade på 80-talsfenomenet. Men än är de inte färdiga eftersom de även har en spelfilm på gång, helt orelaterad till rullen från 1987 där svenska actionikonen Dolph Lundgren spelade He-Man.
Nu har Netflix hittat sin He-Man till serien, vilket är Kyle Allen, som också kommer att spela alter egot Prince Adam. Han flyttar in i Castle Grayskull när produktionen startar sommaren 2022. Filmen regisseras av Aaron och Adam Nee (The Lost City, Band of Robbers), med manus av Nees och David Callaham (Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings). Robbie Brenner, verkställande producent för Mattel Films, hade detta att säga om projektet:
"Masters of the Universe is an iconic property that shaped the imaginations of an entire generation of kids with the message of becoming the best version of yourself. With our partners at Netflix, we look forward to showing audiences that anything can happen in Eternia. We are continuing to unlock this global franchise in new ways, and we can't wait to see Kyle battle it out with Skeletor in this epic live-action saga."
