Flera stora företag har vidtagit åtgärder för att bojkotta Ryssland på olika sätt efter att de startat krig mot Ukraina, och igår meddelade Apple att de stoppar försäljningen av produkter i Ryssland. Personer som spelar Playstation och Xbox har dock inga problem eftersom varken Microsoft eller Sony har gjort något för att sätta press på Putin-regimen.
Nu ber Mykhailo Fedorov, Ukrainas vice premiärminister och tillika minister för digital omvandling, dem att göra det. I ett öppet brev riktat till Playstation och Xbox som delats på Twitter, ber han de båda konsolföretagen att förbjuda konton för spelare i både Ryssland och Belarus, samtidigt som de även vill stoppa lag från dessa länder att delta i e-sport:
"In 2022, modern technology is perhaps the best answer to the tanks, multiple rocket launchers (hrad) and missiles.
I am sure that you will not only hear, but also do everything possible to protect Ukraine, Europe and, finally, the entire democratic world from bloody authoritarian aggression - and I appeal to temporarily block all Russian and Belorussian accounts, temporarily stop the participation of Russian and Belorussian teams and gamers in all international esports events and cancel all international events holding on the territory of Russia and Belarus. We are sure that such actions will motivate the citizens of Russia to proactively stop the disgraceful military aggression."
Nintendo nämns inte, men vi antar att de också ingår i denna begäran.
