SCS Software, utvecklaren bakom Euro Truck Simulator 2, meddelar att de inte kommer släppa planerade expansionen Heart of Russia till spelet. Detta som en följd av Rysslands krig mot Ukraina och det faktum att utvecklaren vill vara så opolitisk som möjligt, trots att denna DLC var nästan färdig när ryska aggressionen inleddes.
I ett nytt blogginlägg meddelas att studion kommer "refrain from releasing the DLC so that it is not perceived in any way as being in support of or tolerance of the aggression". SCS Software har fortsatt med att även lägga till:
"We strongly believe that there is hope for the proud people of Ukraine to prevail and for the suffering to end for all. Injustice cannot and must not win. And, when the time comes for Ukraine to rebuild and heal, then we will endeavour to find a way for our Heart of Russia DLC to play whatever part it can in that healing process, for everyone."
I inlägget noteras att i strävan att stödja dem som drabbats av konflikten, har det tidigare släppta Ukrainian Paint Jobs DLC (där alla intäkter går till humanitär hjälp) nått milstolpen 85 000 försäljningar.
