Activision has announced that the Call of Duty: Warzone World Series of Warzone competitive tournament will be making a return this August and September.

However, unlike previous versions of the event, this time the tournament will boast open qualifiers in-game, and similarly the prize pool is being upped quite considerably from $400,000 to $600,000.

The tournament will be played in a Trios format on the Caldera map, with the open qualifier set for August 12 and running until August 15. This will then lead to a defined European and North American series, where the top 40 qualified teams will be competing on August 20 and 21 respectively.

Following these events, the top 20 teams from each region, plus a further invited 20 teams will be facing off in the EU and NA finals on September 6 and 7, for a share of a $300,000 prize pool in each region. All competition will be held online.
