Guillermo Del Toro fortsätter samarbeta med Netflix på ett nytt stop-motion-projekt efter succén med Pinocchio, den här gången med titeln The Buried Giant.
Del Toro har skrivit manus tillsammans med Dennis Kelly (Matilda the Musical) och ska även regissera och producera. Del Toro samarbetar återigen med ShadowMachine, samma animatörer som låg bakom Pinocchio, vilken Oscarsnominerats och nyligen fick BAFTA-priset för bästa animerade film.
The Buried Giant följer ett äldre par i ett fiktivt England där ingen kan skapa långtidsminnen, och Del Toro beskriver originalromanen som "profound". Del Toro säger även:
"The Buried Giant continues my animation partnership with Netflix and our pursuit of stop-motion as a medium to tell complex stories and build limitless worlds."
Scott Stuber, chef för globala filmer hos Netflix, tillade:
