Det verkar som att The Boys inte kommer ta slut inom den närmsta tiden, detta eftersom det filmuniversumet har utrymme att växa. Iallafall om vi får tro Amazon-chefen Vernon Sanders. När han nyligen intervjuades av Entertainment Weekly förklarade han hur skaparen av showen, Eric Kripke, hade stora planer för framtiden:
"I will say this: Eric has had a vision for what this all leads to for years now, and we've been in an ongoing conversation about what comes next. So, it's probably premature to talk about that beyond saying we believe in Eric, and if Eric is interested in continuing the story, we'll be the first ones in line to really work with him on what that is."
En hel del av hypen kring framtiden kommer från den kommande spinoffen, Gen V, som snart har premiär. Han fortsatte:
"I think Seth and Evan and Eric are genuinely interested in it! I think we've been probably the ones who've been wanting to be careful not to overexpose. So, once we committed to Gen V, we really wanted that to be the next thing out. And once we have it out and get a chance to see how everyone's reacting to it, we can start talking about, like I said, what comes next."
Även om The Boys-världen såklart finns kvar och med rätt manusförfattare kan förbli hur bra som helst, hoppas vi ändå att historien om Hughie, Billy och Homelander inte sträcks ut i all evighet. Att en så bra serie ska börja kännas urvattnad vore tragiskt. Det skulle ironiskt nog kunna leda till att den blir en version av den superhjälteprodukt TV-serien gjorde satir av från första början.
