Apple kan i princip inte hindra Epic Games från att introducera en Ios-version av Epic Games Store, och därmed även Fortnite - detta har nu blivit fallet efter att Apple i princip varit tvungna att öppna dörrarna till AppStore för externt apputbud, men de gör det så krångligt som möjligt att göra just det. Dessutom hävdar Epic Games att Apple rakt av tagit bort åtkomsten till deras permanenta utvecklarkonto.
Historien utvecklas fortfarande dag för dag, men Reuters rapporterar nu att EU officiellt vill undersöka varför Apple tagit bort Epic Games åtkomst och om detta strider mot den nya lagen om digitala tjänster, som tvingade Apple att öppna upp sin butik. En representant säger såhär:
"We have requested further explanations on this from Apple under the DMA (Digital Markets Act). We are also evaluating whether Apple's actions raise doubts on their compliance with the DSA (Digital Services Act) and the P2B (Platform to Business Regulation), given the links between the developer programme membership and the App store as designated VLOP (very large online platform)."
Epic hävdar naturligtvis att Apples agerande är "en allvarlig överträdelse av DMA och visar att Apple inte har för avsikt att tillåta verklig konkurrens på Ios-enheter".

Epic vs Apple har varit en såpa i åratal, som initialt gick mot Epic, medan de på senare tid haft medvind.
