Apple är för närvarande skyldiga enligt EU att tillåta konkurrerande app-butiker via Ios, men även om Apple tekniskt sett följer lagen har de gjort det väldigt svårt för dessa utvecklare att faktiskt lansera egna butiker.
Till exempel avslöjade Epic Games, som vill lansera sin egen version av Epic Games Store med Fortnite, att Apple tagit bort deras utvecklaråtkomst till AppStore, och de fick snabbt EU involverat som lovade att undersöka saken. Nu, kort därefter, meddelas att Apple kommer ge Epic full acess igen.
I ett uppdaterat meddelande skriver Epic Games detta:
"Apple has told us and committed to the European Commission that they will reinstate our developer account. This sends a strong signal to developers that the European Commission will act swiftly to enforce the Digital Markets Act and hold gatekeepers accountable. We are moving forward as planned to launch the Epic Games Store and bring Fortnite back to iOS in Europe. Onward!"
