FIFA och Mythical Games har tillsammans utannonserat FIFA Rivals, ett nytt fotbollsspel till Android och Ios. Spelet är free-to-play och implementerar Mythical Games egen Mythos blockchain-teknologi, där spelare kommer kunna köpa och sälja fotbollsspelare för riktiga pengar.
I den officiella beskrivningen kan vi bland annat läsa:
"In FIFA Rivals, gamers will have the unique opportunity to create and manage their very own football club. Players will be able to build, level up and enhance their lineups, and then use their teams against other players in real-time PvP arcade-style gameplay."
Amerikanska Mythical Games grundades 2018 och bakom bolaget står grundaren och vd:n John Linden (tidigare Activision Blizzard) och även danska Kasper Mai Jørgensen som CFO, som bland annat arbetat på Maersk och Web3 Foundation.
John Linden säger såhär i samband med utannonserandet av FIFA Rivals:

The combination of officially licensed football stars (past and present), prestigious clubs from around the world, and globally competitive esports gameplay will take sports gameplay to a new level. Through this long-term partnership with FIFA, there are major plans to integrate into the FIFA esports platform to give players in every country the ability to become a participant or fan."
FIFA Rivals släpps till Android och Ios under sommaren 2025.
