Det råder naturligtvis ingen som helst tvekan om att Sony-ägda Polyphony Digital och deras Playstation-exklusiva racingföljetong Gran Turismo är tidernas mest framgångsrika spelserie inom racinggenren. Detta eftersom man nu via spelseriens farsa Kazunori Yamauchi meddelat att man sålt 100 miljoner exemplar av de sju numrerade delarna och de tre sidospåren som släppts.

"As of June 25, 2025, the Gran Turismo series has officially surpassed 100 million units sold worldwide since its debut. It is mind-blowing for us creators that the series has sold more than 100 million units. The Gran Turismo series would not have reached 100 million units sold in 30 years without everyone's support, thank you from the bottom of my heart."
