Idag presenterade Sega och Internationella olympiska kommittén (IOK) ett flerårigt avtal som kopplar samman de universella olympiska värderingarna med Sonic the Hedgehog. Samarbetet, passande nog kallat "Five Rings", ska utforska möjligheter att stärka varumärket för de olympiska spelen och lansera officiella produkter tillsammans med andra partners från och med 2026.
Shuji Utsumi, president, operativ chef och representant för Sega säger i pressreleasen:
"At Sega, we are committed to creating respectful and inclusive communities around the world. Partnering with the International Olympic Committee allows us to prioritise these values, especially with the Five Rings programme, and celebrate the innovative and diverse spirit that both brands promote."
Elisabeth Allaman, biträdande generaldirektör för TMS vid IOK hade å sin sida följande att tillägga:
