Nintendos VD Satoru Iwata har i en japansk presskonferens förklarat varför Wii på sistone dragits med försämrad försäljning. Anledningarna enligt Iwata handlar om att Nintendo "inte kontinuerligt kunnat släppa stark mjukvara". Iwata berättar också att prissänkningen av konsolen inte påverkat försäljningen nämnvärt.
"With the price drop, sales returned to a certain level, but they just did not reach the level of last year around this time. We decided that it would be difficult to sell enough to recover from the poor performance of the first half of the year."
Releasen av Wii Fit Plus har lett till en viss uppgång, men Iwata nämner ändå att man inte hållit ett tillräckligt högt tempo med spelreleaser.
"In the game market, once you've lost the momentum, it takes time to recover", berättar han.
