Hideo Kojima har berättat att Solid Snake är på väg tillbaka i ett Metal Gear Solid 5. Så här ska Kojima ha sagt:
"About Metal Gear Solid 5, I can tell you two things. There will be much question of infiltration, espionage, and convincing people to give you 'a favour' like in the last Metal Gear Solid."
Det handlar inte heller om Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, då det spelet enligt Kojima aldrig har sagts handla om Solid Snake:
"We have not yet finished with Solid Snake, despite the fact that I wanted to let him die at the end of Guns of the Patriots."
Metal Gear Solid 5 ska för övrigt använda spelmotorn Fox Engine.
