Det menar i alla fall Paul Gibson, som är medlem av den australiska regeringen. Enligt honom så är spelet en provokation mot alla de regler regeringen de senaste åren har skärpt.
Gibson sade följande:
"This game sends the wrong message to young people. Its actually glorifying speed and power. It is clearly and inappropriate depiction of speed and power"
Hos den australiensiska Xboxavdelningen håller man inte med utan svarar:
"There are plenty of games like this, I don't think it would be fair to single us out. It is not about driving on the streets, it is purely a racing game. The streets are blocked from other traffic and there are no pedestrians. All we are doing is taking the geography of Sydney and turning it into a race track."
