Utvecklarna Hangar 13 släppte Mafia III förra månaden och det har sålt bra men fick inte riktigt det kritiska mottagandet som fansen kanske hade hoppats på.
Utgivarna Take-Two har nu gett sina egna tankar om betygen för spelet under en kvartalsrapport (via Gamespot).
Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick förklarade: "In terms of the reviews and scores, it was sort of an odd anomaly. The scores were lower than we would have liked. But there are a lot of stellar reviews. I think the most prominent reviewers really loved it and recognized that what we're doing here, from the story, art, character, and excitement perspective is really unmatched in the marketplace. So I think we and our competitors are seeing some anomalies in the review system, but we take them as they are and we don't argue with it."
Spelet skeppades i 4,5 miljoner exemplar till butik så vi kan nog räkna med att det kommer en uppföljare vid någon punkt i tiden, oavsett vad kritikerna tyckte. Förhoppningsvis tar utvecklingsteamet för nästa spel till sig kritiken och gör något spektakulärt.
