Star Citizen har nu uppdaterats till version 2.6 och en diger lista med det som ändrats kan hittas på denna länk. Det mest intressanta är såklart att en tidig version av förstapersonssdelen, Star Marine, nu kan spelas och utvecklarna själva säger:
"Alpha Patch 2.6.0 has been released to the PTU, and is now available for players to test. This patch provides access to Star Marine - with two maps and two game modes to choose from, we hope you're all as excited as we are for this release! We also have four new flyable ships, four new variants of existing ships, new FPS combat mechanics such as cover, mantle and vault, major ship balance changes and so much more. Not to mention fixes and updates to existing content and (yes, there is more) Spectrum!"
Star Marine finns tillgängligt via Electronic Access och innehåller två banor, Station Demien och Echo Eleven. Det finns även två spellägen, dessa är Elimination (free for all) samt Last Stand där Marines och Outlaws ska ta kontroll över fyra punkter. Granater har i och med detta avslöjats till Star Marine efter att folk hittat dem i loot-lådor.
