Vi har tidigare rapporterat om den saftiga stämningsansökan Zenimax lämnat in mot Oculus för att ha läckt saker under utvecklingen av Oculus Rift. Nu har beslut om saken fattats - och det är rejäla belopp det handlar om.
Enligt Polygon har nämligen Oculus dömts till att betala Zenimax en halv miljard amerikanska dollar (runt 4,5 miljarder kronor) som ett resultat av att förstnämndas grundare Palmer Luckey brutit mot sitt kontrakt om tystnadsplikt. Det är värt att poängtera att Zenimax bett om att åtta gånger så mycket, från början.
Oculus kommer mest troligt att överklaga domen men uttalar sig samtidigt såhär:
"The heart of this case was about whether Oculus stole ZeniMax's trade secrets, and the jury found decisively in our favor. We're obviously disappointed by a few other aspects of today's verdict, but we are undeterred. Oculus products are built with Oculus technology. Our commitment to the long-term success of VR remains the same, and the entire team will continue the work they've done since day one - developing VR technology that will transform the way people interact and communicate."
