Dignitas: 76ers will help improve player wellbeing

Founder Michael O'Dell talked at an event in London last night.

Last night Sammy from Gamereactor attended an event at the BAFTA venue in London where big figures from esports had been gathered to discuss the past, present, and future of the field, and one such figure was Michael O'Dell, the founder of Dignitas, who is also on the Advisory Board for the newly formed British Esports Association.

O'Dell revealed that 37 pro players are a Dignitas right now, and their policy is to not hire anyone under 16. At the event he talked extensively about his own history, starting playing tournaments in 1982 with Space Invaders and gradually beginning to find talent to help form Dignitas today.

The most interesting thing he said, however, was that the partnership with the Philadelphia 76ers will help improve player wellbeing, hopefully setting a standard for other teams moving forward. He also said that selling to the 76ers helps ensure a longevity for the players.

How do you think this partnership will work out in the future? Let us know below!
