"There is a responsibility we have to the X-Force universe, and I do think we will not disappoint the fans going into Deadpool 2 and then setting up X-Force and beyond...Its purpose is not to set up X-Force. It will likely set up X-Force, but the drive of the movie won't be our eyes on Movie 3. We never want to let the tail wag the dog. We want to tell the best Deadpool story we can. But I do think we have a responsibility to think about a larger universe in the way that Marvel does and start to put pieces in place. Some of these movies feel overstuffed and almost choking with the need to set up eighteen different things that pay off down the road, and we want to avoid that responsibility to the extent that it hurts us. We want to hint at things, we want to plan some characters, and we want to make some nods, but we're very, very cognizant about making sure that Deadpool is above all a Deadpool movie."
Comicbook.com skriver mer om produktionen:
"A source close to the film tells ComicBook.com that Joe Carnahan, known best for his work on The Grey, has been tapped to direct the X-Force movie. Carnahan will also write the film, with Deadpool star and executive producer Ryan Reynolds. The source says work has already begun between the two on the film. Carnahan's resume extends to The A-Team, The Blacklist, and Smokin' Aces. He is also in line to direct the upcoming Bad Boys for Life film with Will Smith and Martin Lawrence returning to the franchise after years of Michael Bay running the saga. The Bad Boys sequel was recently pushed back on Sony's release schedule.
Reynolds is currently working on the sequel to Deadpool which does not yet have a release date, either. He has voiced his desire for the X-Force film to follow Deadpool and Logan's lead (both films from 20th Century Fox) and release under an R-rating, allowing more room for coarse language, violence, and nudity. The popular time-traveling character Cable will be appearing in the sequel and likely crossing over into the X-Force movie, as well." Länk
