Det verkar som att vi ännu inte sett det sista Jigsaw, för Variety rapporterar att komikern och skådespelaren Chris Rock (Madagaskar, Dogma) vill väcka nytt liv i filmserien och arbetar just nu på en spinoff-film. Rock - som agerar exekutiv producent och som tydligen också är ett stort fan av filmerna - hade följande att säga om saken:
"I've been a fan of 'Saw' since the first film in 2004. I am excited by the opportunity to take this to a really intense and twisted new place."
Lionsgate-ordförandet Joe Drake tillade att Rock har en vision för den blodiga skräckfranchisen:
"'Saw' is one of the highest-grossing horror franchises of all time and it's one of Lionsgate's most successful film series. This upcoming film will still be as mind bending and intense as all the previous 'Saw' films. Chris conceived this idea and it will be completely reverential to the legacy of the material while reinvigorating the brand with his wit, creative vision and passion for this classic horror franchise."
Den nya Saw-filmen kommer att regisseras Darren Lynn Bousman, som även gjorde "Saw II," "Saw III" och "Saw IV". Manuset är baserat på en historia av Chris Rock och skrivs av både Pete Goldfinger och Josh Stolberg.
