Under Microsofts presskonferens fick vi se både Gears 5 och Gears POP!, men av oklar anledning visades inte Gears Tactics (som utannonserades förra året) upp och många började misstänka att det kanske lagts ner. Men The Coalition-bossen Rod Fergusson hade lugnade besked att ge när han tillfrågades om saken av Kotaku:
"Last year we wanted to really talk about all three games and show that Microsoft is tripling down on the Gears of War franchise. But now that we've had that we're really trying to make sure it's not always this three-pack... We'll talk about Gears Tactics later."
Splash Damage utvecklar denna spinoff, som hittills bara är utannonserat till PC.
