Flera länder har redan på ett eller annat sätt förbjudit loot-lådor och fler överväger att göra detsamma. Ett av dem var Storbritannien, som dock kommit på andra tankar efter en utredning. BBC skriver att loot-lådor inte är att betrakta som dobbel, trots att du på sina håll kan få betalt i riktiga pengar för exempelvis ett CS:GO-skin.
Gambling Commission-chefen Neil McCarthur medger visserligen att det är problematiskt för barn, men tycker inte det förändrar något:
"There are other examples of things that look and feel like gambling that legislation tells you are not - [such as] some prize competitions but because they have free play or free entry they are not gambling... but they are a lot like a lottery."
Gambling Commission programme director Brad Enright hade också en kommentar kring detta:
"We have said [to the video games industry], 'it's not enough to say we don't want this happening'. We've been robust and said, 'we can see you have T&Cs, what are you doing to apply them?'.
Where we have drawn their attention to British consumers, including children, taking part in gambling, they have closed [skin betting sites] down."
