"You acknowledged it was performance capture. So many people nowadays think that what we did was voice acting, and to a small extent it was, but the majority of it done with what we called these 'superhero scuba suits', you know, with all these balls on them," he said, going on to talk about how the animators used these performances.
Voice acting and performance capture go hand in hand in video game performance as we all know, but yet they are two mediums that are very, very different from each other. I honestly feel more confident and relaxed and excited with performance capture."
"Now don't get me wrong, I love voice acting, but with voice acting you only have one tool at your disposal, and that is your voice, and more often than not you're by yourself in a booth with the script in front of you.
So there's a lot of dynamics and little details that you can find with your scene partner when you're actually performing in a scene and learning your script and running lines with a partner, then you would do by yourself in a booth."
