CD Projekt Red låter meddela att deras manga-inspirerade The Witcher-serie nu släppts som Kickstarter-kampanj. Serien heter The Witcher: Ronin och om du är med och finansierar, kan du få en Hard Copy Collector's Edition som innehåller Ronin-serien, tre noveller med karaktärer från Witcher och även lite bakom kulisserna-innehåll. Dessutom planeras mer att läggas till om kampanjen går bra.
När det gäller Ronin-storyn, så är det ett slags What If-premiss där Geralt besöker Yokai-infekterade områden i vilka han måste spåra upp och hitta den mystiska Lady of Snow Yuki Onna i feodala japanska miljöer. Mangans författare Rafał Jaki kommenterar:
"Being able to break away and take on this 'what-if?' scenario, where The Witcher is rooted in Japanese history and tradition, has opened up many compelling storytelling opportunities; and having Hataya on board to create the artwork has also been a real treat. "I've always envisioned Geralt to fit the mould of a wandering Ronin character, and the more I thought about it, the more I could see that feudal Japan, with its rich history of Yokai tales and folklore, fits the style of The Witcher world perfectly."
