Det är många som räknar med att Nintendo ska släppa sin nya konsol NX i år och härom veckan dök det första ryktet upp angående en ny mer kraftfull Playstation 4 under 2016. Och att döma utifrån AMD:s senaste rapport tycks det ligga något i detta.
De skriver nämligen:
"Demand for game consoles looks strong for 2016 and we remain on track to generate additional revenue from new semi-custom business in the second half of 2016.
Game consoles -- we see units going up 2016 to 2015. We've also said in the enterprise embedded and semi-custom segment that we will be ramping some new design revenue in the second half of 2016.
We have new products being introduced in both the businesses with the new design wins in the second half on the semi-custom side."
Det låter kort sagt som att det släpps nya spelkonsoler med AMD-komponenter under året, men om de faktiskt pratar om NX eller Playstation 4,5 vet vi såklart inte. Å andra sidan är det svårt att tänka sig andra konsolmärken som skulle sälja bra nog att påverka AMD:s finanser nog mycket för att lyftas fram på det här viset.
