Ben Affleck och Gal Gadot blev i veckan intervjuad av Empire inför Justice League. Under intervjun pratade de lite om tonen inför filmen och då togs även den mörka tonen i Batman v Superman upp. Många ansåg den vara för mörk medan det fanns de som uppskattade det.
"I can understand people saying [Batman v Superman] was too dark, or this was outside the tone of what I'm used to seeing with a Batman story, and I think that's fair criticism. Justice League was all scripted and set up before that movie came out. The approach was changed anyway for the second one. It was a natural progression."
Gadot förstärkte även att Justice League inte är lika mörk som Batman v Superman var.
"Justice League is not a dark or heavy movie, it doesn't have the weight that Batman v Superman had."
