The Boston Uprising Overwatch League team has announced that it has promoted the Korean DPS player, Gihun "Victoria" Oh to the team, seeing the young talent leave behind his Overwatch Contenders roots in favour of joining the premier competitive Overwatch scene.

Revealed in a blog post by the Uprising, this will mark Victoria's first foray into the OWL, after only previously playing as part of the Uprising Academy over his Overwatch career.

"Despite him not having played competitively prior to this year, we saw tremendous potential in Victoria when we picked him up at the beginning of 2021," said Chris "HuK" Loranger, president of the Uprising. "His performances surpassed those expectations, and I am ecstatic to add him to our long list of Uprising Academy graduates."

The Overwatch League is expected to return in April 2022, where it will be played on an early build of Overwatch 2, and will use a 5v5 format.
