Att Call of Duty-serien brukar pulverisera allt motstånd när det kommer till försäljning borde inte vara nyheter för någon vid det här laget. Och nu rapporterar butikskedjan Gamestop att 2013 inte ser annorlunda ut, tvärtom tycks årets mest förhandsbokade spel bli Call of Duty: Ghosts. Såhär säger Gamestop-bossen Bob Puzon i ett officiellt uttalande:
"Call of Duty is an entertainment juggernaut and cultural phenomenon. We are excited for the upcoming release of the new instalment of this blockbuster franchise. We look forward to celebrating the worldwide November launch of this great game that is on track to be the most pre-ordered title of the year."
Gamestop noterar även att fansen har svårt att veta vilket format de ska köpa spelet till i år (mot normalt ganska överlägsen dominans för Xbox 360). Något de förklarar med att nya konsoler är på väg och att spelarna dels inte vet vilken konsol de vill ha av de nya, samt dels inte vet hur mycket som kommer att skilja mellan versionerna. Såhär säger Puzon:
"Our quantitative consumer research indicates that hesitation amongst past COD pre-orderers is primarily due to not knowing which platform they will be playing on, which is natural at this time in the console transition."
