Ett av den senaste tidens mest ihärdiga rykten fick till slut en officiell bekräftelse. På Summer Games Fest förra veckan bekräftades en remake på Resident Evil: Code Veronica. Titel skippar Code och går såledsen under titel Resident Evil Veronica. Trailern var urläcker men lämnade också en del fans med en stor fråga då den utspelade sig i förstaperson.
Nu har Capcom dock förtydligat det hela och säger att det kommer vara ett skräckäventyr som utspelas i tredjepersonsperspektiv. Spelets producent Yoshiaki Hirabayashi sade under en frågestund som skedde efter avslöjandet att: "this game will be a third-person game."
På denna frågestund, där IGN medverkade, så undrades det även vad för skillnader mot originalet som remaken kommer att bjuda på. Hirabayashi sade att han inte kunde dela med sig av för många detaljer men lade till; "However, the team behind this remake is the same team that handled the Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 4 remakes. So if you looked at the past remakes that this team has created, you can probably sense a certain mindset that we have when we make a game, and that mindset includes preserving those iconic and key aspects of the title. So again, if you look at our work, you can probably get kind of a good sense of what kind of approach we're taking here, and maybe you can imagine what that might look like for this remake."
Resident Evil Veronica släpps under 2027 till PC, Playstation 5, Xbox Series S/X samt Switch 2.
