Tydligen så var ingen mindre än Christian Bale påtänkt en roll i den kommande Han Solo-filmen, Solo: A Star Wars Story. Det har inte framgått vilken roll det handlade om, men det spekuleras om att det har att göra med Han Solos mentor, Beckett. I en intervju med podcasten Happy Sad Confused uppger Bale att han varit sugen på att medverka i en Star Wars-film, speciellt med tanke på att han vid en ung ålder arbetade med Lucasfilm nuvarande vd Kathleen Kennedy i filmen Empire of the Sun.
"Yes, [it was] very tempting. I not only love the films going back to my childhood but also have a very long relationship with Kathleen Kennedy and Frank Marshall because they did Empire of the Sun many years back. There was discussion, [and] I hope there will be future discussions."
