I en intervju med Red Bull (japp, energidrycken) berättar en av EA-bossarna, Andrew Wilson, att företaget kommer att satsa mer på e-sport framledes. Detta eftersom det är här för att stanna och rent av kommer att växa. På frågan hur Wilson ser på e-sport, svarar han:
"...what eSports does either through the playing of the game or watching people play the game is really bring people together around great, creative entertainment. I actually think it's going to continue to grow."
Wilson fortsätter och berättar att både EA:s sportspel och andra titlar kan komma ifråga för satsningar på e-sport:
"We have some ready-made franchises for this in our sports properties, but we also have a number of other franchises that people may not typically think about as eSports opportunities, but we think there might be an opportunity in the future, so it's something that you're going to see more of from us."
Kanske går vi därmed in i en ny era där det kommer bli allt mer pengar, fokus och medial täckning av e-sport eftersom Activision redan satsar hårt på fenomenet med både Call of Duty-serien och Blizzards titlar. Vad tycker du om e-sport?
