Förra veckan bestämde sig många spelföretag för att protestera mot Rysslands aggressioner mot Ukraina genom att bojkotta dem på olika sätt, något som Ukraina särskilt bad Microsoft och Sony att göra.
Microsoft gick långt i sitt svar mot Ryssland och även Apple, Intel samt CD Projekt Red klippte banden på ett betydande sätt. Andra donerade pengar till välgörande ändamål och vissa har gjort mindre saker, som att EA tog bort Ryssland och ryska lag från fjolårets FIFA och NHL. Nu har de dock beslutat att ta ett steg längre och meddelar att de inte kommer att sälja sina spel i varken Ryssland eller Vitryssland längre:
"We have made the decision to stop sales of our games and content, including virtual currency bundles, in Russia and Belarus while this conflict continues. As a result, our games and content will no longer be available for purchase in our Russian region storefront on Origin or the EA app, including through in-game stores. We are also working with our platform partners to remove our titles from their stores and stop the sale of new in-game content in the region."
Även om detta är ett kraftfullt drag, lägger EA också till att de "are actively evaluating other areas of our games and operations, and will update with any further actions". Kort sagt verkar det inte som att de är färdiga ännu.
Andra företag som har protesterat mot Rysslands krig genom att helt enkelt inte släppa mer innehåll i landet är Disney, Warner, Netflix och Spotify.
