Efter att Sony, Facebook Gaming och Kojima Productions valt att stå över Game Developer Conference i år, kommer nu en ny tung avbokning; EA. De kommer alltså inte medverka mellan den 16-20 mars i San Francisco då eventet går av stapeln.
Orsaken är det vanliga, nämligen coronaviruset och en representant för EA skriver på LinkedIn:
"Having closely followed the global situation with Coronavirus and with the recent escalation of cases in new regions, we have decided to take additional steps to protect the wellbeing of our employees including the restriction of all non-essential travel.
As a result we are also cancelling our official participation at GDC and limiting attendance to other events. We are continuing to monitor the situation and will adjust guidelines to our employees as we feel is appropriate."
Vi håller tummarna för att vi nu sett den sista avbokningen på grund av coronaviruset, för vi går just nu mot en väldigt tunn vår när det kommer till spelhändelser, vilka är viktiga för att skapa spänning och dynamik i spelvärlden. Både Playstation 4 och Xbox One dalar oväntat fort i försäljning, och händelser som dessa kommer såklart spä på den negativa tendensen.
