The Envy and OpTic merger has been widely reported and covered ever since it was first mentioned that the two esports titans would be joining together. But, there has not actually been an official announcement on this matter from either organisation... until now.

Envy and OpTic has officially announced its merger, and as a part of that move, has also revealed the rebranded Dallas Empire Call of Duty League team, which will now be known as OpTic Texas going forward.

The team will feature a combination of the Empire and the OpTic Chicago rosters, seeing Chicago's Brandon "Dashy" Otell and Seth "Scump" Abner teaming up with Dallas' Indervir "iLLeY" Dhaliwal and Anthony "Shotzzy" Cuevas-Castro.

Likewise, as part of the merger, Hector "H3CZ" Rodriguez will serve as OpTic Texas' president, with Envy owner Mike "Hastr0" Rufail regarded as the CDL franchise's owner as well.

Take a look at the OpTic Texas welcome page here.
