Alibaba has announced that they are partnering with the Olympic Council of Asia to make esports a part of the 2018 and 2022 Asian Games.
Alisports (a part of Alibaba) CEO Zhang Dazhong and the Olympic Council of Asia president Ahmad Fahad Al-Shabah announced this decision together, one which will see esports make its way to the second biggest international sports event in the world (behind the Olympics).
Alisports will also work with the Olympic Council of Asia to expand and open up new markets for esports, as well as seeking out sponsors. Could this movement lead to esports becoming a part of the olympics?
