Despite being the top team in the Overwatch League over the first and second tournaments of this season, the Los Angeles Gladiators struggled in the third tournament phase. But, it will be looking to get back on track for the fourth and final tournament phase, which started last night, however it will have to do so without a member of its starting roster.
And this is because Patiphan "Patiphan" Chaiwong has announced that he is retiring from competitive Overwatch, and will no longer be playing in the Overwatch scene or for the Gladiators.
"Today, @itsPatiphan is retiring from Overwatch," said the Gladiators in a tweet.
"An energetic teammate and dynamic player, we can't thank him enough for not only his contribution to our team, but the joy he inspired within the entire Overwatch community."
"Once a Gladiator, always a Gladiator."
This news comes quite recently after Lee "ANS" Seon-chang also announced his decision to leave the Gladiators, despite the team's success over the year.
