I veckan rapporterade vi att Final Fantasy VII: Rebirth-kampanjen tar cirka 40 timmar att klara av. Den speltiden har dock potential att nå 100+ timmar, vilket verkar extra troligt nu när vi fått mer information om spelets kortbaserade minispel Queen's Blood.
I ett samtal hos Game Informer bekräftade co-director Motomu Toriyama att det vankas en "massive amount" med kort att samla på, och att Queen's Blood är som ett eget spel:
"In terms of the number of cards, there is a massive amount - enough to be, like, its own card game almost. Part of the fun will be collecting these cards. Queen's Blood is more of a strategy-and-thinking kind of card game, but I looked at some of the gameplay when you are toward the end, and you have collected all of the cards, and it has the potential to become a very flashy, fast-paced card game."
Även om Final Fantasy-serien flera gånger tidigare haft egna kortspel, är det svårt att inte dra paralleller till främst The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt och dess kortspel Gwent. Detta är något som teamet har full förståelse för, och director Naoki Hamaguchi medger faktiskt att just Gwent påverkat utvecklingen av Rebirth.
