"Well we love Frozen Synapse, and we love Xcom, and we love Banner Saga, so we thought 'we've got to make a game which kind of combine these three different games into one'; a great, story-driven, tactical game where you have all the time to plan your game and your turn, but then you see the action play out in real-time. And that's Broken Lines. We [also] love Company of Heroes, but I'm too slow to play it! I mean, I need a game where I have time to micro everything, but I don't want to be cheated for explosions and things going on and bullets flying around, so we made this gameplay where you plan, and when you execute you and the enemy move, so everything happens at once and it's very hectic."
