När man pratar om B-film är det få andra titlar under modern tid som nått upp till samma kult-status som den katastrof-usla Catwoman med Halle Berry i huvudrollen som den snärtiga latex-jäntan. I princip allt som kunde gå fel gick fel under produktionen och för alla er som ömsom skrattat ömsom plågat er genom Jean-Christophe Comars kalkon-rulle så vet ni vad vi pratar om.
Men där finns ännu lite liv i katten, för i en intervju med Jake's Takes uttryckte Halle Berry sitt intresse kring att få möjligheten att regissera en ny version av Catwoman ämnad för 2020-talet.
"I would love to direct Catwoman. If I can get a hold of that now, knowing what I know, having this experience and reimagine that world the way I reimagined this story. Bruise was written for a white Irish catholic, like 25-year-old girl. I got to reimagine it. I wish I could go back and reimagine Catowman and have a re-do on that."
"I would have Catwoman saving the world like most male superheroes do, and not just saving women from their faces cracking off. You know, I would make the stakes a lot higher. I think make it more inclusive of both men and women."
"The story didn't feel quite right. I remember having that argument: 'Why can't Catwoman save the world like Batman and Superman do? Why is she just saving women from a face cream that cracks their face off?' But I was just the actor for hire. I wasn't the director. I had very little say over that."
En seriös Catwoman-filmn som följer i fotspåren av DC:s nuvarande filmuniversum hade mycket väl kunnat bli intressant och det kan ju knappast bli sämre än filmen från 2004 i varje fall. Vad tror du, hade det varit kul med en ny Catwoman-film och vem vill du i så fall se i huvudrollen?
