Att hålla koll på tidslinjen och handlingen för alla Legend of Zelda-spel är inte alltid det lättaste, men nu har regissören för The Legend of Zelda: Tri Force Heroes, Hiromasa Shikata, berättat var just det spelet platsar bland händelserna i det övergripande Zelda-universumet.
"Initially, the story starts with the king recruiting hero candidates, and that's where Link steps in. There's a part of me that doesn't want people to come into the game thinking, 'Is he not a hero then? Is he just a candidate?' But I want to reassure people that this Link is the hero that came from the A Link Between Worlds world."
Tri Force Heroes tillhör, igenom sin koppling till The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds, alltså samma gren av Zelda-tidslinjen som klassikerna The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening och det allra första spelet i serien, The Legend of Zelda.
