Hideaki Nishino tar över som ensam chef för Sony Interactive Entertainment

När den tidigare chefen för Sony Interactive Entertainment, Jim Ryan, lämnade bolaget förra året utsågs både Hideaki Nishino och Hermen Hulst till nya chefer och har sedan dess, tillsammans, lett Sony Interactive Entertainment.

Nu meddelar dock Sony att Hideaki Nishino från och med den 1 april kommer vara ensam på den posten, medan Hermen Hulst fortsätter som ledare för Studio Business Group. Detta innebär att Hulst leder Playstations förstapartsstudios. Här ska han ansvara för "development, publishing, and business operations of SIE's first party content" och "developing games across many devices including Playstation consoles and PCs and bringing video game IP to new mediums through Playstation Productions". Hermen Hulst ska framöver rapportera direkt till Hideaki Nishino, som säger:

We will continue to grow the Playstation community in new ways, such as IP expansion, while also delivering the best in technology innovation. I am deeply grateful for the Playstation community and their continued support, and I am very excited for what the future holds."

Om Hermen Hulsts nya roll är ett resultat av Sonys många misslyckanden med live service eller om det helt enkelt inte fungerade med två ledare vid rodret för Sony Interactive Entertainment vet vi inte och vi kommer förmodligen aldrig få reda på heller.
