Inga höjda priser på Playstation 4-spelen

Sony-boss räknar med att det ska ligga på samma nivå som nu

Killzone: Shadow Fall lär kosta $60 precis som föregångarna, trots höjda produktionskostnader.

Utvecklingskostnaderna för spel väntas växa rejält med den nya generationens konsoler, vilket lett till spekulationer om höjda spelpriser. Men i en intervju med CNBC säger amerikanska Playstation-bossen Jack Tretton att det nog inte är något vi behöver vara oroliga för. Tvärtom tror han rent av på en bättre spridning på prisklasserna:

"I think people are willing to pay if they see value there and I think there's more choice than ever before for consumers. We're going to welcome free-to-play models; games from 99 cents up to those $60 games."

Och $60 är ett helt okej pris för påkostade spel, menar Tretton: "But if you really see where the heat is for the true gamer on the console it's still that big-form experience that typically runs upwards of $50 million to develop and will justify that $60 price point and will give people hours and hours of gameplay on a daily basis for months and years to come."

Inte heller oroar sig Tretton för smartphone-spel, utan han anser att en sann gamer: "...wants to play the most powerful devices and the most deep and rich gaming experiences."
