Det verkar som att Aquaman inte är den enda superhjältefilmen som regissören James Wan kan förknippas med. I en intervju med Heroic Hollywood uppger karln att han är sugen på att se en lite mörkare Batman-film, som kanske är inne och nosar på skräckspåret till och med. Någonting som kanske inte låter helt orimligt med tanke på hans bakgrund i genren:
"In the past like most people I loved the idea of directing Batman, but a horror version of Batman. That would be a potential fantasy of mine, but I feel like he's been done quite a fair bit. But, I do love the idea of doing an outright scary Batman. I feel like that'd be really cool."
